Images shot on December 25, 2011 and January 10, 2012 at Lilydale Boat Ramp; Harriet Island; and Crosby Park. The purpose of the 2 shoots was mainly to test the lens at various focal lengths and get a feel for using it. Not all of the images have artistic merit, but for me, all were instructive.

018 Sigma Test 122511. Lilydale Boat Ramp. Tripod. Barred Owl. My brother Jim and I took pictures of this little guy in the same tee hollow last winter. Note that these were taken with a Nikon D90, so the listed focal length has to be multiplied by a factor of 1.5 to get the 35mm equivalent FOV.

014 Sigma Test 122511. Lilydale Boat Ramp. Tripod. The strength of this lens is said to be at the longer focal lengths. But it is handy at times to have the shorter focal lengths, perhaps to capture "atmosphere," or context without changing lenses or bodies.
